Their efforts, often unacknowledged,
Are the beating heart of our society.
But on this day, International Workers Day.
Their labor was not forgotten.
A token of appreciation,
Was offered to ten households.
A care package of hope,
To show that their struggles,
Were not unseen or ignored.
The Manica Youth Assembly,
Gave them food to cook and clean,
With a few extra items
To make their lives less lean.
Let us remember on this day,
The workers who work tirelessly,
Without much fanfare or pay,
Their service to our society,
Is something to celebrate!
The care packages might not be grand,
But they show that we understand,
The importance of their work,
And their value in our land.
From the cooks to the cleaners,
The teachers to the builders,
We salute all the workers
Who make our lives more fulfilling.
So here’s to the workers,
Our neighbors and our friends,
Who work hard for our community,
And on whom we can depend.
